Land Acknowledgement

With respect and a commitment to learning, I acknowledge that the land in which I practice on is the ancestral homeland of the Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), Tawakoni, Wichita, and Jumanos peoples. I reflect on my relationship with this place where I work and benefit from its resources.

I honour the deep, shared connectedness between the generations of ancestors who were birthed from this land and those who bring new life onto it today. I remember that for millennia, the children of these nations have been raised on this same soil, taught its stories, and learned to care for it.

As a physical therapist, I pay particular respect to the healers, medicine people, and knowledge keepers who have cared for their communities on this land since time immemorial. I strive to honor their legacy through my own work, tending to the well-being of all who live here now.

My commitment is to inform those who share this sacred space with me about this land and its original caretakers, fostering a sense of collective responsibility. My actions will be to create this lasting acknowledgement for our website and to deepen my personal learning about the histories, cultures, and present-day presence of these nations. I strive to be a respectful and informed steward of this place, for the generations to come.
